Academic Support

Academic Support

Whether you need help understanding course content, staying on pace, improving grades, or overcoming challenges in an ACCESS course, support is available. Students are encouraged to seek assistance early and communicate regularly with teachers, facilitators, counselors, and parents/guardians.

Who Should I Contact?

Students experiencing academic difficulties should communicate with:

  • Their ACCESS teacher through Schoology Messages
  • Their school-assigned facilitator
  • Their school counselor
  • Their parent/guardian

Early communication often prevents small challenges from becoming larger issues.

ACCESS Success Coaches

Students who need additional academic support may request assistance from an ACCESS Success Coach. Success Coaches provide guidance, encouragement, and subject-area support to help students stay engaged and successful in their courses.

Todd Burwell – Mathematics & Science

Macie Couey – Special Populations

Charlene Deakyne – Mathematics

Kim Holmes – English Language Arts & ELA Electives

Students may contact Success Coaches through Schoology Messages within their ACCESS courses.

Strategies for Success

Students are encouraged to do the following:

  • Work in their courses daily
  • Follow course pacing guides and deadlines
  • Check Schoology Messages regularly
  • Review teacher feedback
  • Ask questions when concepts are unclear
  • Monitor grades and progress frequently
  • Communicate concerns as soon as they arise.

Additional Support Resources

Technical resources are available within each ACCESS course to assist with common issues such as uploading assignments, accessing course materials, and other technology-related concerns.
