Student Information

Students do not register directly for ACCESS Virtual Learning courses. All ACCESS course enrollments must be submitted through your local school, typically by a school counselor or other designated school representative.

If you are interested in taking an ACCESS course, talk with your school counselor or administrator about available courses, eligibility, scheduling, and enrollment. Your school will help determine which ACCESS courses are appropriate for your academic needs and submit your enrollment.

Welcome to ACCESS Virtual Learning! Once you're enrolled, the following steps will help you get started and prepare for a successful online learning experience:

• Receive your ACCESS Schoology login credentials from your school facilitator or counselor.
• Log in to ACCESS Schoology.
• Complete the required Student Orientation in each ACCESS course.
• Review your course information, syllabus, pacing guide, and expectations.
• Begin working in your course and stay on pace with assignments and deadlines.
• Communicate regularly with your ACCESS teacher and school facilitator.
• Monitor your grades, feedback, and progress throughout the course.
• Ask for help as soon as you have questions or concerns.

Students receive their ACCESS login credentials from their school-assigned facilitator or counselor and access their courses through the ACCESS Schoology platform at accessvl.schoology.com.

If prompted to select a school when logging in, choose ACCESS Virtual Learning, Montgomery, AL — not your local school.

If you have trouble logging in or do not know your ACCESS login credentials, contact your school facilitator or counselor for assistance.

All students must complete the required Student Orientation in each ACCESS course before course materials become available. Orientation introduces you to Schoology and your course, including navigation, assignment submission, teacher communication, feedback, grade monitoring, and other essential online learning skills.

Student Orientation remains available throughout the course, so you can return to it whenever you need help or a refresher.

Student Responsibilities

ACCESS students are expected to do the following:

• Follow all ACCESS policies outlined in the ACCESS Policy Manual.
• Follow course expectations and requirements described in the course syllabus.
• Stay on pace with assignments and deadlines outlined in the course pacing guide and ACCESS calendar.
• Engage in coursework daily.
• Review course updates regularly for announcements, assignment information, and additional instructions.
• Ask questions when the course content is not understood.
• Complete their own work.
• Communicate with teachers through Schoology Messages and respond promptly to teacher communications and requests for information.

As an ACCESS Virtual Learning student, you and your parent/guardian are required to review and sign the Student Acknowledgement Form. By signing this form, you agree to follow all ACCESS expectations, procedures, and requirements. Once completed, the form should be returned to your school counselor or facilitator and will be kept on file at your school.
